Named 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year by WCR

Sheila Rice, executive vice president of Virginia Cook, Realtors, was named the 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Dallas Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors.

Mrs. Rice received the award in recognition of her business accomplishments, industry involvement, community service and role as a mentor to hundreds of Realtors throughout her career.

As a 19-year director of the National Association of Realtors®, Ms. Cook has also spent her career communicating the value of being a Realtor®, a registered trademark mark for a person who is a member of NAR and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.

This influence can be seen throughout Virginia Cook, Realtors, now in its 10th year in business. “Our vision for professionalism and service to our industry has been the foundation for continued growth,” says Mrs. Rice.

In 2010, numerous members of Virginia Cook, Realtors are serving at the highest levels of their local Realtor association.

Mel Harris of the company’s Fort Worth office is president of the Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors and Alden Karotkin and Phyllis Brown are directors. Barbara Larsen of the Northern Division is president of the Greater Texoma Association of Realtors where Stacy Olmstead is president-elect, Ken Taylor is secretary, and Robin Philips is a director.

Linda Argo of the Intown office is a director of the MetroTex Association of Realtors, and Meredith Held of the Plano office is a director of the Collin County Association of Realtors.
