Ida Hung

A legacy led to a career for Ida Hung. The granddaughter of a Feng Shui master in Hong Kong, Ida grew up studying the ancient Chinese philosophy with her grandmother. When she immigrated to Seattle, Washington, she was discovered by a local bookstore where customers were showing interest in the philosophy. She began giving talks at the bookstore and then area libraries. She soon became a sought-after advisor to businesses and individuals and has continued to share her knowledge and translation skills since moving to Dallas.

"Feng Shui is intriguing to many," says Ida. "In Feng Shui, everything in life has energy, and the placement of furniture, objects and color in a home are very important." With increased immigration from Asian countries, Feng Shui has also drawn the attention of the real estate industry. "Many agents have asked me to help with their Asian clients," says Ida, who would translate and share her Feng Shui expertise. "Finally, I realized that I should become a Realtor myself."

A business graduate of a Hong Kong college, Ida points to many cases in which her Feng Shui knowledge has helped in the sale of a home. One such case involved neighboring houses that went on the market at the same time. "These homes were mirror images of each other," says Ida, who was representing one of the properties. "I made Feng Shui improvements in my listing by moving furniture to increase the home's energy. My client's home sold within one month, even though her neighbor had lowered his selling price. That home remained on the market even after the closing of my client's home."

Prior to entering the real estate profession, Ida worked for Seattle First Bank, which is now Bank of America. She is married to Michael Hung, who is an accountant in the hotel industry. She is also active in the Ursuline Academy Parents of Alumni association.
