Ken Taylor’s deep roots in North Texas span from Carrollton-Farmers Branch where he grew up to the Sherman area where he raised his own children and has lived for 36 years.   His grown children live in Charlotte, NC and Euless while his wife works for the Allen ISD
After graduating from R.L Turner High School in Carrollton, Ken continued his studies at Eastfield Community College and embarked on a distinguished 18-year career with Fisher Controls in Sherman. His love of working with people ultimately drew him in a new direction as an area and regional director with Youth for Understanding International Exchange and a Regional Program Director with AFS, Intercultural Programs.

The numerous awards he received from the organizations for both his professional and volunteer service exemplify his commitment to serving others. He and his wife, Bobbi, have also hosted 20 exchange students since 1986 and have had the opportunity to visit many in Europe and South America.

“Ken’s involvement in youth exchange programs provided a natural transition into real estate residential sales with Virginia Cook, Realtors, where his appreciation of diversity and excellent communication, organizational and management skills are equally valuable
While Ken’s vision is global, he loves his hometown where he is a member of Fairview Baptist Church, serves on the North Texas Youth Connection Board of Directors, the Greater Texoma Association of Realtors Board, and has served on the board of directors for Grayson County Rehabilitation Center. His son and daughter graduated from Tom Bean High School, and Bobbi worked for the Tom Bean ISD for 10 years as a teacher, librarian and curriculum director.  She is currently a curriculum coordinator for Allen ISD in Allen, Texas.

When not working or volunteering, Ken enjoys traveling, camping, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, Trent, age 9, Audrie, Age 7, Alaurie, age 2, and Bradon, age 5 months.

Ken was selected as Realtor of the Year in 2008 by the Greater Texoma Association of Realtors.
