Throughout their distinguished careers, company founders Virginia Cook and Sheila Rice have exemplified the strongest work ethic and commitment to success through service. With more than 70 years of combined experience, these industry leaders and innovators launched Virginia Cook, Realtors in 1999 and have guided the company’s phenomenal growth with a daily, hands on presence.

Involved in every aspect of the company from ensuring exceptional client service to helping agents reach career benchmarks, these dynamic business women continue to make their mark in a highly competitive industry.

Virginia Cook was the first woman president of the MetroTex Association of Realtors and of the Texas Association of Realtors, both of which named her Realtor of the Year. Prior to founding Virginia Cook, Realtors, she served a 28-year tenure as president of one of the nation’s largest independently owned real estate firms.

Named One of the 25 Most Influential Thought Leaders in National Real Estate, Virginia has served on the Board of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) for 19 years and as Chair of many important committees including Strategic Planning.

Currently, Virginia is liaison to NAR’s largest member firms in the United States. In 2003, she became the 63rd Realtor in the 104-year history of the organization to receive the Distinguished Service Award. She is a frequent guest speaker at local, state and national events and has mentored many of the nation’s most successful real estate leaders. Throughout her career, Virginia has consistently supported a broad range of organizations and charities with her time, energy and resources.

Sheila Rice is a past president of the MetroTex Association of Realtors, which honored her as Realtor of the Year. She has also served as president of the North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, Inc., now serving over 22,300 MLS subscribers in the real estate community.
Prior to founding Virginia Cook, Realtors, Sheila excelled during a 27-year tenure as vice president and manager of the top-performing North Dallas office of one of the nation’s largest independently owned real estate firms.

Currently, Sheila is president of The Dallas Woman’s Forum, which fosters the health and education for children and young people and enriches the cultural life of the city and its members. Throughout her career, Sheila has led and supported many additional organizations and charities dedicated to improving lives and strengthening communities.
