Dedicated to Success through Service, To Our Customers, Our Agents, Our Industry and Our Community
Virginia Cook, Chief Executive Officer
Named one of the most powerful women in national real estate, Virginia Cook’s service record includes being the first woman to become president of the MetroTex and the Texas Association of REALTORS®. She has been honored as one of the Great Women of Texas by the Fort Worth Business Press, and the Dallas Business Journal honored her with its Women in Business Award.
In 2015, she was honored as the Les Femmes Du Monde Woman of the Year, and she is one of 88 REALTORS®s nationwide to be presented with the National Association of REALTORS®’ Distinguished Service Award during its 108-year history.
While serving her industry and community in so many ways, including President of the Dallas Children’s Cancer Fund and Dallas Woman’s Forum, Virginia led the phenomenal growth of two residential real estate companies. First, Henry S. Miller, REALTORS®, which grew to 30 offices statewide under her direction, and now, Virginia Cook, REALTORSs, celebrating its Sweet 16th Year in 2016 and prominence in North Texas real estate.
But look beyond her own professional success, and you will find so many stories in which Virginia quietly ensured the success of others. Like the single mom of three striving towards her first commission check. To help her make ends, Virginia took the young agent to a Sam’s Club and loaded her shopping cart with food and household supplies. Or communitywide causes, like funding the respite section along the Northaven Trail that links into North Texas’ expanding hike and bike trail system.
The list could go on and on as volumes have been written about Virginia’s contributions to the industry and our community; her leadership style and professional knowledge; and her dedication to improving all things that contribute to the quality of life in the communities we serve. She is truly the leading lady who has infused our company with her own special brand of love, care and concern for others.
Sheila Rice, Executive Vice President
Since the doors of Virginia Cook, REALTORS® opened 16 years ago, this dynamic leader has been at the pulse of the company working on daily basis with Virginia Cook to build one of the top independently owned, local real estate brokerages in Texas.
But Sheila’s career began long before 1996, and it's a story that exemplifies the great businesswomen of Texas who have contributed so much to the real estate industry.
Born, reared and educated in Baltimore, Maryland, Sheila married H. Edwin Rice, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. His post-military career brought the couple to Dallas. While raising their three children with complete devotion and skill, Sheila also worked earning a real estate her salesperson’s license into her busy schedule, and then her broker’s license.
Achieving the status of Top Lister and Top Producer of the fledgling Henry S. Miller, REALTORS® soon followed. She was then appointed manager of the North Dallas office, which reigned as the #1 office of Henry S. Miller, Realtors for many years as it outperformed 29 successful offices statewide with Virginia at the helm as president.
While leading her office and mentoring many of Dallas’ top performing agents, Sheila held high level positions including President of the MetroTex Association of REALTORS®, and President and Secretary-Treasurer of North Texas Real Estate Information Network. She was a Charter Senate member of MetroTex Association of REALTORS® Breakfast Caucus, the education and fund-raising arm of MetroTex Association of REALTORS®.
Sheila’s significant contributions were honored by her peers in 1992, when she was named REALTOR® of the Year and presented with the Easterwood Cup, the highest award presented by the MetroTex Association of REALTORS®.
In addition to REALTOR® association, Sheila was 2009-2010 President of the Dallas Woman’s Forum, which was founded in 1906 and continues to benefit from her involvement. She is a member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League, the Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum, the Dallas Museum of Art League and Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church.
And through all of the hard work, the volunteering and caring for her family, Sheila and Virginia have maintained a phenomenal professional partnership, and a devoted friendship. This bond is a huge part of what makes Virginia Cook, REALTORS® special, and it continues to foster a culture of love, care and concern for our clients, our colleagues and the communities we serve.
